Book Overview
Searching for the Historical Jesus
As a Freemason, I was interested in the origins of Freemasonry, which has always been shrouded in mystery. However, my lodge mentor George Elliott gave me a book by John Robinson titled Born in Blood. In that book, the author put forward the theory that the origins of Freemasonry lie with the Knights Templar.
I knew that the Knights Templar had been accused by the Inquisition of denying Jesus Christ, and I wondered how they could do that when their full title was “the poor fellow soldiers of Christ and of the temple of Solomon.”
It appeared they were denying their very reason for existence.
Knowing that the Knights Templar were accused of worshiping a severed head and that John the Baptist was beheaded by the authorities, I thought it was possible that John could be the original Christ and the Knights Templar had discovered this fact whilst in the Holy Land, and that is why they could deny Jesus Christ.
Initially, I was looking for information to confirm this, but in doing so, I discovered a completely different character, who I believe impersonated the original Christ, possibly John, and created the religion we now know as Christianity. That is the substance of this book.
